Practice first by counting, letter naming, letter naming and fingering, and finally playing. Then when you feel confident, play along with the recording.

3. Assemble your instruments. Practice "High" and "Low" (C and G) If you have a tuner it should read Bb and F. You should also be able to do this on your mouthpiece. In addition, use your fingering chart and start to work on Page 5 in the measures of success book. You should count, letter name, count and finger, letter name and finger, air play (using your tongue) and then play. Listen to yourself closely to see where you make mistakes!!!
2. Watch the video on Assembling your instrument as well as the buzzing video. Practice Highs and Lows and Also tonguing. Try to tongue the rhythms on the first few charts.

Assignment: Measures of Success: pg. 18-20. Keep your air flowing and only tongue to start the note. Also, watch the breath marks and only breathe when you have a breath mark.

3. Assemble your instrument, continue to work on tonguing with the mouthpiece and neck. Practice B, A, and G, using your fingering chart. Begin to look at pg. 5 in Measures of Success Book 1. for each example you should Count, Letter name, count and finger, letter name and finger, air play (using your tongue) and finally play. Listen carefully to yourself to see where any problems are. If you have a tuner, your B will read "d" your A will read "c" and your G will read "Bb". If you have a smart device you can download the free tuner on the front page of our band page!!!
