GFMS ROCKS
Welcome Families!
We are excited to share the PBIS initiatives taking place at the George Fischer Middle School! PBIS is a framework to guide our students to learn about behavior expectations, strong character development, and positive interactions with other students and staff, while building pride in our school.
The halls are appointed with prompts about R.O.C.K. expectations reminding us how we RESPECT, ORGANIZE, COOPERATE and KEEP SAFE at GFMS so we can learn. Our school community is immersed in the values of PBIS.
Students are developing the characteristics of the "We R.O.C.K" and the "R.O.C.K ON" programs as they transition through the Middle School.
Our PBIS mission at the George Fischer Middle School is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all students to realize their academic, social and emotional development.
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture necessary for all students at GFMS to achieve social, emotional and academic success.
PBIS emphasizes a school-wide system of supports that include proactive strategies for defining, teaching and recognizing appropriate student behaviors to create a positive school environment.
The purpose of PBIS is to establish a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm at George Fischer Middle School.
