PSA Creating a Powerful Public Service Announcement
What is a PSA?
PSA’s are short announcements prepared to provide information to the public to create awareness about an important issue, inform and influence public opinion about a current important topic or provide health and safety tips.
Your PSA must include:
Minimum 8-10 slides
- One “Cover Slide” that shows your group name, class period, first name of group members
- Your issue must be clearly stated in short, memorable phrases.
- You must include information from your research to support your claim. (What are the working conditions?)
- One- Two slides that have a call for action. What do you want the viewer to do to help make changes for these workers? This should include what the viewer can do to help or where to get more information.
- Your PSA must be persuasive.
- You must include audio and visuals.
Your PSA should either focus on:
Improving the working conditions of Lowell Factory Mill Workers
Or
Improving the working conditions of factory workers worldwide today

How do I save the picture for my animoto?
Saving Images on the School Laptops:
- Click on the image to enlarge it. Click on "view image".
- Right click "save image as".
- Click "This PC" on the left side.
- Scroll all the way down until see you need your name (H drive). Click on it!
- Open "Pictures".
- Name your picture and click “SAVE”
Colonial Town Hall: Should the colonies declare their independence?
Your Town Meeting Objectives:
Students will research the historical figures for a simulated town meeting in 1776.
- Students will connect the arguments for or against independence to their historical figure.
- Students will prepare and present a speech for the town meeting.
