Community Service Recognition Award

At GFMS, we encourage our students to help in our communities beyond the scope of the school day. 8^th grade students can receive the Community Service Recognition Award upon completing a total of 65 Community Service Hours.

The followinng is a suggested list of hours, by grade, to attain the total 65 hours required for the Community Service Recognition:

            5^th Grade – 10 hours               6^th Grade – 15 hours                 7^th Grade – 20 hours             8^th Grade – 20 hours

Guidelines: Community service should be completed outside of the student's immediate family and should benefit the broader community. Family members cannot sign off on community service hours. The organization or individual overseeing the volunteer work must sign off on the Community Service Form (download below). Please use one form per school year. Completed forms should be submitted to the Guidance Office by June 1.
