World Language - Course Descriptions

FRENCH
French 7 - The first year of LOTE (Language other than English) is an introduction to another language. Students are encouraged to speak as they learn basic vocabulary of the world around them. sentence structure & simple key elementas of the language are stressed.

French 8 (LAN400)- A deeper understanding of culture and the more sophisticated elements of syntax are incorporated into the curriculum. Lessons are conducted in the target language as the students prepare for success in another language.

ITALIAN
Italian 7 is the first year of the LOTE (Language Other Than English) and is an introduction to another language. Students are encouraged to speak as they learn basic vocabulary of the world around them. Sentence structure & simple key elements of the language are stressed.

Italian 8 (LAN420) gives them a deeper understanding of culture & the more sophisticated elements of syntax incorporated into the curriculum.  Lessons are conducted in the target language as the students prepare for success in another language.
